Congratulations to Vanessa & Chris who got married at Middle Ranch in Lake View Terrace! (The Lord of the Rings fan in me keeps remembering it as Middle Earth.)

Thank you to Gina from Pix of Life for second shooting with me too!

How lucky am I to be able to photograph so many of my friends’ weddings these past few years – thanks Jennifer & Sereyrith for including Kevin Bautista and I on your beautiful day!

How am I so lucky to have the best clients? Laurice and Ben were so laid back and tons of fun on their wedding day. We started off at the gorgeous Westin Bonaventure Hotel, then off to the Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels for their ceremony, and finally to Castle Green for their reception. Thanks to the wonderful couple for making my day SO easy and also to their awesome videographers, Boffo Video.

A few weeks ago, I photographed Nancy & Chris’ wedding near Princeton, New Jersey. When I arrived, I was confronted with rain and thunderstorm. Needless to say, I was a little worried about the weather for the wedding the next day. But things have a way of working out and it was a gorgeous day on their wedding day.

Nancy & Chris were completely laid back and spent most of the day laughing and having fun – which is exactly how a wedding should be. Their reception was one of the funniest (and wildest) receptions I’ve been to to-date.

(Congrats guys! Thanks for the wonderful time!)

I usually don’t photograph the bride putting on deodorant, but this was a funny moment:

Wow! This has been a long time coming… things have been so incredibly busy that I’ve had to neglect my blog! Hopefully with my son now in preschool, I’ll have a little more time to catch up!

Check out Bami & Eric’s wedding in Cal Poly Pomona. :)

I couldn’t have imagined a more perfect place than Disneyland for Tosha and Keith to get married. Their wedding was full of little Disney details, a string trio for their ceremony, and a lot of great family and friends.

Also, thanks to the fabulous Kelsey Anderson Photography for second shooting this event with me!

Since Anne and Jason are such good friends of mine, it was so wonderful to not only be able to photograph their engagement session but also their wedding. My second shooter, Toki Lee Photography, and I started the day at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena where Jason proposed to Anne. After their ceremony, they had a traditional Chinese banquet where Anne changed into a number of stunning gowns. At the end of the night, Anne threw the bouquet and Jason threw a wad of cash and everyone had a fantastic time. :) (Congratulations guys! xoxo)

Julia & Stephen’s wedding is one of my favorites this year. Theirs was a small wedding surrounded by close family and friends held at the totally gorgeous Figueroa Hotel, a Moroccan themed boutique hotel located in Downtown Los Angeles. They held a Buddhist ceremony followed by a family style Moroccan dinner reception. My favorite thing about their wedding, besides the wonderful food and wonderful people, was being able to see if I could capture the mood of the hotel and of the wedding itself.

I traveled to Bakersfield, CA for Emma & Jared’s wedding. When I arrived to photograph the boys getting ready, the first thing they did was put on Star Wars. The energy in their room was pretty amazing against the backdrop of the Star Wars soundtrack. As I was processing these photographs, I pointed to their wedding cake and told my husband, “I don’t know what that is.” Immediately he said, “Death Star.” I should have known when grandpa had a light saber during the family formals. :)

Their reception took place on the Cal State Bakersfield campus outdoors decorated with twinkle lights. I wanted to capture the mood of the night so turned off my flash for a few photographs. This first photograph is one of my favorites – the colors are essentially straight out of the camera.

I think the boys were reenacting a scene from Scooby Doo:

Hazel & Ed are one of my favorite couples. They had their ceremony and reception on the beautiful Occidental College campus. The two things that I’ll remember most about their wedding is Hazel’s mom whooping everybody’s butt on the dance floor and Ed & his mother’s fantastically energetic dance together. At the end of the night Hazel & Ed took the time to make sure that my second shooter (Hi David!) and I ate dinner. I love my clients.
